I just love His truth, His kingdom and His people and I know what is possible for them and do not want to see Him dishonored by their slackness but reflecting His glory as much as possible.
He has told us the victory is ours, the victory over our flesh and the world and sin, as well as the victory over the lost, and yet so many live such weak and unexcited lives as if we are losing and there is no hope of victory.
I can see the finish line, I know we can win, and want others to see it and run harder, so they will have more their peace and that He be glorified more by their love and rejoicing in Him.

Be of good cheer! The Lord our God is Strength. Look what good things He has for you if you believe Him in spite of what your eyes see in the flesh alone. Let your eyes be liars but the Lord be True.
Matt 9:2 “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”

Matt 14:27 “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”

To not be of good cheer and rejoicing is to deny God. So weep for a moment, then rejoice in the God of our salvation and trust in His promises. For even His scourging is sweet to those who love Him, for we know it is His loving hand killing our wicked flesh more and more.
And it is only our flesh which makes this life a hell instead of heaven. For we are already seated in the heavenlies Amen!!
So let Him do what He will to your flesh, it is a healing surgery. He just does not use anesthesia that you may learn how wicked sin is and know His holiness more.
He is answering your desire to know Him more. Open your eyes, look up to Him when in the fire, it is only your flesh that burns away as He preserves your soul alive!! Hallelujah!!

Look what He says to the disciples who are about to do the worst betrayal of all and desert Him. Take restful hope in knowing that He is as forgiving and merciful to you as He was to them!  The only issue is do you believe. Do you not just beleive in Him, who He is for salvation, but do you believe, each day each moment that He is your loving Father, sovereignly in control, He who controls the firey trials and He who controls the hearts of your children and He who sustains you and will bring you to victory. Then live in that, live from belief not your limited understanding and perception. Deny what your eyes see and your flesh fears as much as you would cut off right hand and pluck out right eye for sin. And just trust in the Faithful one who is worth all your trust.

John 16:31- Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe?
32 Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.  33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Wow some of the greatest words of all scripture, yes ??   Though we have betrayed Him preferring sin in the past, yet He tells us so that we may have PEACE, though we have tribulation in this world do not worry be of good cheer because … He has overcome for us. As He overcame for Moses and other kings in battle He has won for us, the victory is ours, celebrate, though we have a long walk home through a bloody battle field of moaning we celebrate the victory. Listen as He tells us of His church and how He loves and preserves her, can you keep from rejoicing and giving Him praise and glory and thanks and honor for this?? Let us hold this version and strive to see it in our lives knowing He has won and so shall we!

Ps 46:5 God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;
God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
6 The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved;
He uttered His voice, the earth melted.

7 The LORD of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge.
Selah

8 Come, behold the works of the LORD,
Who has made desolations in the earth.
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!

11 The LORD of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge.
